Hi, Edwin M. Manalo!
I'm writing you, b'coz I had the same problem last month. I use 70GB DLT-4
tapes. As I said, I have had the same problem with my second tape. Tape
length was shorter which means that less than 70GB data could be written.
My previous TAPESIZE was 70GB and I have similar message in my online.log:
17:41:52 Archive on rootdbs, billdbs, calldbs, chamdbs, chamdemodbs,
eppixdbs,mddbs, pstntapdbs, tmpcalldbs, cdrhistdbs ABORTED.
17:41:52 Aborted by client.
After changing it to 68GB the problem disappeared.
Maybe your second tape is damaged or in case you use hardware compression,
the compression is switched off after loading the second tape.
IHTH.
Best regards,
Milen.

Actually, this is a fairly common problem caused, not by damaged tapes or
compression problems, but just by the tape not being quite as long as
advertised. It was very common among Informix consultants I knew to take 10%
off the "advertised" size of a tape when doing backups, and this was on
uncompressed tapes, not even taking into consideration hardware compression
variations. One thing I've also seen a lot lately, dealing with disk drives, is
that when they say 9 GB, what they mean is 9,000,000,000 bytes, which is
significantly smaller then 9 GB (and sometimes it's even 8.7 billion bytes).
Ah, truth in advertising...
