Hello, How/where can I get a copy of the latest version of dostats which will run on x64 Linux (openSuSE 11.2) with IDS 11.50FC2? I have found references to utils2_ak, and found utils2_ak on http://www.iiug.org/software/index_DBA.html but how do I compile (deps etc) it to get dostats? Preferably does anyone have an already compiled dostats Ver 1.142 or newer? Thanks in advance. we are suffering from the systdistold issue.. Also how can I find out the exact version of the one we have?
You were in the right place. Download the utils2_ak package and execute the shell archive that you download: ksh utils2_ak It will unpack itself. Once the archive unpacks itself and you have read the README.1st file edit the makefile (Makefile) and modify the variable that holds the install directory path (INSTALLDIR) to the path you want, then run the make.and you should be able to just type: make install and the package will build itself and install the executables in specified directory. Note that the current version of dostats is actually named dostats_ng (for next generation). The makefile does not automatically install that version, but the dostats which is a couple of versions behind dostats_ng. If you want the latest release just: cp -p dostats_ng <install path>/dostats BTW the last release of dostats.ec before I rewrote it as dostats_ng was 1.173 (the latest release of dostats_ng.ec is 1.3, release 1.1 was equivalent to dostats.ec r1.173). You can find out what release you have by running: dostats -V if it is compiled or if not and you have RCS installed you can: ident dostats.ec The dostats_ng.ec is the only version that I will be adding new features to, so you should switch to that going forward. The older source, dostats.ec, is included because dostats_ng.ec does not support releases of IDS older than 10.00 in order to simplify the code path. Let me know if you have any problems. Art Art S. Hi, thank you for your very fast response. All working now :) Thank you. Although I did not have to manually copy the new version of dostats. After looking in the makefile, I could see that dostats_ng was being output as dostats already, which of course 'make install' already copies. I have a 64bit native one now. I just to put together a 32bit one now which I can do. Also how can I get hold of a 32bit version for Windows?!?!? I cannot build this. We have several 32bit Informix databases on Windows for our small customers. Thank you for your kind help. Regards, Andy.
Yeah, haven't tried to build this for Windows in many years. I know that at some point someone had it working, but... I'll see if I can put a bit of time on this and try to get an exec for you.
