Assignment of Values to TEXT blobs

I have a set of data stored in Informix databases that I want to make available to my users via HTML browsers. I have used I4GL/RDS reports to generate a set of files but this is becoming unweldly as changes are made in the data. I think that it would work better if I could generate the HTML formatted information and put it into a text blob. From the manuals I know that I cannot use "let" to assign values to text blobs. The manuals are very "thin" in this area anyway. I did find an old Tech Note that used a C program to take character strings and create text blobs. Ugh! I have attempted to select and concatenate char values and insert them into the text blob. This results in error 617. I have created a huge char variable and tried to insert or update the text blob with the char variable. This results in error 608. I a few more ideas but they are convoluted and kludgy to the maximum. Has anybody tried something like this? Is there any hidden source of TEXT blob knowledge in the manuals. I have read the I4GL supplement manual but the examples didn't help much. Any other suggestions? Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Harold L.
