Now Now Ladies, Handbags and ten paces. Look, this is meant to be an INFORMIX mailing list, so why are you arguing about Microsoft? Microsoft have the market because years ago, when there was no software to run computers MS-DOS was born. It was a good product for the day, and done its job well. Since then, they captured the market and now dominate it. Having dominated the market, it gives users less of a choice of software to run, so it has to be a MS product or nothing. Just good markting.... Nobody moans at the fact that the PCs we use today are all IBM compatible? Its the same sort of thing. IBM set the standards of PC architecture, and all the other PC manufacturers followed. Just like all software houses now write they're applications to run under Windows. Everything in this world is dominated by someone/something. Its a way a life, so get used to it!!!! Jamie
