Logical Logs to Disk

OK, so we're not concerned about long term viability of our log files, since they are only ever 1/2 day older than our full backup. How do I set up Informix to backup the logs to disk? Do I have to set up a raw disk? Do I have to maintain the files in that area, or will Informix just write over them? Thanks in advance for your help.
