Rok, You can move in two directions: 1. Increase logical log space. 2. Reduce size of the transaction by inserting COMMIT WORK operator(s). If update information comes as a flat file, you can split it and run more than one update process (sequentially or in parallel). Note. Locking table in exclusive mode would not reduce size of a long transaction (it helps against lock table overflows).
