i4gl

I have recently installed 4gl to see if it is able to satisfy some batch processing needs we have. Not knowing how 4gl works, I created a simple program to perform a DISPLAY to ensure that I have all my components installed correctly. During the 4gl compile phase, it appears that our C compiler (Sun Workshop Pro C v3.0) gets invoked. Our C compiler is a single-user edition. At the time I compiled my program, 4gl paused (forever!) because the license_manager for our C compiler thinks that someone is currently using the C compiler. BTW, I was the only one using the compiler! Does 4gl invoke the compiler multiple times behind the scenes? Any other thoughts? Steve Romankiw
