Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

To update the Progress database from Informix 4GL one possible way is
to write C functions that you call from 4GL to do the updates. These C
functions could use something like the UDBC drivers from OpenLink or
possibly a C interface library from Progress (I have no idea if they
have it). The UDBC drivers are a call level interface library along
the lines of ANSI/CLI (something like ODBC) runing on Unix.
And what is "vice versa"? Update an Informix database from an
application written in Progress (the language)? I thought there where
connectivity solutions for that from Progress?
