Doubt about DBTEMP environment variable

Hello, folks.
We´re running IDS 11.50.FC4 on a linux_64 machine.
As the official documentation says:
"If DBTEMP is not set, the database server creates temporary files in the /tmp
directory and temporary tables in the DBSPACETEMP directory. See DBSPACETEMP
for the default if DBSPACETEMP is not set. Similarly, if you do not set DBTEMP
on the client system, temporary files (such as those created for scroll
cursors) are created in the /tmp directory"
My doubt is: even if we don´t put "export DBTEMP", or DBTEMP=/tmp on informix,
or root profiles, when we start the engine, the
onstat -g env |grep DBTEMP output is:DBTEMP /tmp
Is it correct?? The database automatically sets it acording to the linux
settings?
Shouldn´t it be null, so the engine really uses the temp dbspaces?
Obs: our DBSPACETEMP onconfig is correctly pointing to our 2 temp dbspaces
created.
Thanks for your advices!
In what document are you seeing a reference to DBTEMP? It was (I guess
still is) used by Online 4.xx & 5.xx and by Standard Engine (SE) but is not
used at all by IDS that I am aware of. DBSPACETEMP controls all temp table
creation except sort-work files for parallel sorting with PDQPRIORITY > 0
and PSORT_NPROCS > 1 during which PSORT_DBTEMP overrides DBSPACETEMP if it
is set.
