Installing IDS on NT Server with DOMAIN configured

I don't know if my problem concerns NT or Informix. The scenario: my customers send me their NT server for installing my application which runs on IDS 7.2 or 7.3. the NT server belong to o PDC (primary domain controller) but has also an administrator local account. Obviously I install Informix using the local account (of course other accounts on the Domain are not validated in MY network) When I link the server to the original network and I log with an account of the customer Domain (is indifferent whether the account belongs to Informix Admin Group or not) Informix doesn't works for connection problems (I think security problems). I've seen a solution: I create a new PDC on the NT server and then I install Informix. In the customer's network I make a trusted relationship between the domains But there're some problems: sometimes I can't reinitialize the NT server (to build a PDC) sometimes the server is a NT Workstation and not a NT server. So what I need is a solution for installing Informix with a local admin account (for example on WORKSTATION) and then giving to this account the capability of working with Informix also in the customer's Domain. Something like "bypassing Informix security levels". Thanx in advance Andrea Bertoni
Only thins you need is to set user environment just like was set for the Informix installation. You've installed on local account. Thus, the environmebt was set for the local user, not domain. There are at least 2 ways I know: - use CMD file from your installation directory and set all missed System Variables to correct values. - logon as local user and make a list of User Variables. Logoff and logon as Domain User and set all the variables again. Also you'll need to check connectivity using setnet32 utility. BTW, it is always usefull to see security and application Event Log for detailes. May be you need to set services setting also (using control Panel) that Informix server will start under domain account as well. BTW 2: latest IDS is able to install not using domain account.
