c4gl does not take -I"include_dir"

When I run 'c4gl -c -I"include_dir" esqlcsource.ec', I got error message: esqlc: "esqlsource.ec", line 12: Error -33042: Cannot open input file 'the_header_file.h'. The header file does reside in the include_dir we pass to c4gl. I traced up the execution of the "c4gl" scripts, and found that when "c4gl" calls $INFORMIXDIR/lib/tools/i4glc3 to compile the .ec file, none of the argument passed to "c4gl" has been passed to i4glc3. If I run i4glc3 then it does recognise -I"include_dir". Is this a bug of c4gl, or it is not supposed to take C compiler arguments? But we did need to use c4gl to compile the ESQL/C sources to link with 4GL modules. ( As pointed out by Art, See message "Unresolved functions compiling 4GL and ESQL/C programs" first posted on June 1st, 1999). Any help appreciated. Carl Y. Wu

I have had similar problems with the ESQL/C compiler script esql which in 7.2x passes libraries to cc even when the -c flag is specified causing the compiler to complain that it is ignoring the libraries since it was not asked to link anyway.
