It'd got to do with a company's attitude to their customers and their partners. Talking about licenses...have you looked at the so-called new licensing scheme Informix has come up with? Has anyone been able to accurately estimate how much it costs to own Informix licenses??? I worked closely with some of their sales guys...I'd rather not get into the details, but they lied thru their teeth to the potential customer, gave really vague pricing structure...I'm ashamed that I was silently watching all of that. Needless to say, three months later I lost that contract and so did Informix! > > What is the price comparison for equal licenses? > > No offense, but from my point of view, I would rather keep licenses cheap, than > support partnerships I don't use. > Take a look at the relative market shares for Informix vs Oracle...there's got to be a reason why Oracle still retains their share. Didn't I hear Phil White swear that Informix would send Oracle scrambling for its established market??? I wonder what happened to that! > Your point is a little like asking gas stations to help pay for your car, at the > expense of higher-priced gas for the rest of us. > > > ---------------------------- > Weight is the result of friction between mass & gravity. > My *real* .sig awaits future display technology (sent with Agent 1.5/32)
