Your Online log says that processes are aborting abnormally. Are you
sure that someone is not killing them? It's common for the
engine to crash if you kill a process that is in a critical section.
A critical section does not cause a checkpoint. Checkpoints are
triggered by 3 events:
1) The checkpoint interval expires
2) The physical log is 75% full.
3) When requested with onmode/tbmode.
Your physical log file is kind of small. One of the events that
starts a checkpoint is when the physical log is 75% full. And your
system had the physical log at 75% full when you took the snapshot!
I noticed that you had checkpoints occuring as frequently as every
2 seconds and your checkpoint interval is set to 300 seconds. So unless
your sending tbmode -c at the engine its got to be the physical log
that is causing the frequent checkpoints.
You also have consistency checks in the log that I would be concerned
about.
The first thing to do is find out how the processes are aborting abnormally.
Are users hitting control-C? The fact that your checkpointing so often
has got to hurt performance. Maybe the users are getting impatient?
Increase the size of the physical log at least 10 times what you have.
You have 50 MB of logical log space and 1MB of physical log space. Try
10 MB for phyical logs.
