JDBC and TEXT objects

Hi, I've been trying to add TEXT objects to an Informix Database via Informix's JDBC driver, but so far I have been unsuccesful. I use PreparedStatement.setAsciiStream() to set the TEXT object, but executeUpdate() returns -1. This -1 does not mean anything according to the JDBC spec which says executeUpdate should return 0 or a positive value, or throw an exception. Does anobody know of any examples of adding TEXT objects via JDBC to an Informix database? Thanks, Vincent.
