Mysterious Update of syslocktab failing !
Posted in 1999
Hi All, We have multiple clients enquiring on a database from a New Era 3.11 program, and the program should only be retrieving data, not updating or inserting data. However, in our audit logs, we're picking up lots of audit failures with err -273 (No Update Permission), trying to update a row in Sysmaster/syslocktab (given by rowid of 159 in the audit log). If a table was actually being locked, I would assume that Informix would be the user updating the row, as informix is the only user with Update access to the syslocktab table, but in all cases, it is the name of the client instead. Given that the program itself is definately not accessing the syslocktab table directly, does anyone have any clue what is causing this to happen??
