Google Antonio Meucci. OK, so shoot me down on that one ... it it's true! -- Bye now, Obnoxio "C'est pas parce qu'on n'a rien ' dire qu'il faut fermer sa gueule" - Coluche did i mention i like nulls? heck, i even go so far as to say that all columns in a table except the primary key could/should be nullable. this has certain advantages, for example, if you need to insert a child record and you don't have a parent row for it, just do an insert into the parent table with the primary key value (everything else null), and voila, relational integrity is preserved. but this is, admittedly, a bit controversial among modellers. --r937, dbforums.com
TV as we know it, ie electrical as opposed to mechanical was invented by an American, out of Utah I believe Obnoxio The Clown wrote: > > Marco Greco said: > > > > Obnoxio The Clown wrote: > > [snip] > >>> > >>>I can't remember a single fucking thing that came from England or the > >>>UK that was worth remembering other than a tyrannical king and a bunch > >>>of drunks. > >> > >> > >> English. > >> The world wide web was invented by a Brit. > >> Television. > >> The inventor of the telephone was a Brit. > >> The jet engine. > >> Penicillin. > >> Radar. > >> The umbrella. > >> Scuba gear. > >> Submarines. > >> Periscopes. > >> Do I need to go on? > > > > Actually no. the inventor of the telephone was Italian. Paul Watson wrote: > TV as we know it, ie electrical as opposed to mechanical was invented by > an American, out of Utah I believe You disappoint me Paul - electronic television was devised in 1908 by A C Swinton, some 20 years earlier than Baird ever dreamed of mechanical television, although it wouldn't be until the early 30's that the system saw the light of day. Campbell Swinton was, guess what, a Scot.
