Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Hi,
I have an Informix-Online 5.01 DB that crashed on me last
night. However, while bringing it back up, the disk was
initialized by mistake (the instructions called for
initialiazing shared memory). So when I logged in and looked
at the log I discovered that all my data was lost!
My database backup is over a month old. So I am partially
there. Is there a way for me to restore tables from a UNIX
system backup (cpio). That backup is only a day old and I know
the chunk was backed up last night (/dev/rmydb). So my
question is it is possible?
I have little hope though. Please respond without malice :)
Thanks in advance.
