RE: Y2K Issues Needing Resolved

Lloyd Please forgive me if this seems to be an uncooperative answer, but it is the answer I had to painfully learn. By following the information on the Informix website, I believed that I needed to upgrade to a certain release to be on a version that was fully certified by Informix to be Y2K compliant. However, when I asked for the particular release for my platform (7.23.UC8 for SCO Unix), I was informed that release was not ported to my platform. After much painful hemming & hawing with the Informix technical and sales representatives, we decided to move to 7.31.UC2-1. We have been informed that 7.31.UC4 is due out soon, and it fixes some bugs oriented around fragmentation by expression on date columns. Now that I've given the "why" on this answer, I will finally get around to the answer: Call your Informix sales representative. They will be able to give you the most accurate information as to which specific Y2K compliant releases have been ported to each of your platforms. -----Original Message----- From: Lloyd AJ Wilson [mailto:lwilson@harriscomputer.com] Sent: Thursday, October 14, 1999 10:48 AM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Y2K Issues Needing Resolved Please do not respond by viewing the informix web site ... I have done this and I cannot find the information I need ;--) Here is the issues: We currently run a variety of different IDS versions including 7.22UC1 for HP10.20 7.24.FC5 for Alpha (not sure of version .. I think the latest) 7.30.UC5 on Linux 5.2 (I will be upgraded because of the known NETTYPE issue) 7.23UC1 on an Alpha (again not sure of version) but in any case ... Informix has documented that the 7.2x versions of informix are being supported beyond the year 2000 but does that mean I have the right versions for all the known defects that are contained in each release that we currently run ? I just can't keep up ;--) I have been seeing in all the tech notes that certains versions need to be upgraded. Can someone please provide me with what I should be telling our clients to upgrade to ... or even if they need to upgrade? TIA, Lloyd AJ Wilson
