ISQL Select Database slow

Hi, I'm running Online 5.1, HP 9000/755, HP-UX 9.01, 512 MB RAM. Two machines with identical installations of Online, same database schemas, different data. On one of the machines, when I run ISQL, Database menu, "Select", ISQL sits there for a looong time or until I press ^C in frustration. Then I get the list of databases. None of these are remote databases. The longer the engine has been up, the longer this seems to take. The only difference between the two machines that I can think of is that the one in question has more data and more activity. Trivial, you may say, but it's a training issue for some users (technicians). I also hate not having any idea what's causing something with my database (real reason for question).
