High Performance Load question

Hi
Folks,
Hopefully this won't have the =20 at the end of the line 8-)
IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 9.40.UC2E1
Linux hostname 2.4.18-14 #1 Wed Sep 4 13:35:50 EDT 2002 i686 i686 i386
GNU/Linux
I have an issue with HPL when trying to run a job. I can create the job
successfully, run unsuccessfully and then delete the job successfully.
This is the version downloaded from iiug.org and installed on a linux
box. Is this limited perhaps and I'm unable to use this feature?
The commands I'm using are :
onpladm create job tmpjob3 -d /usr/hpltest/stock.unl -D stores_demo -t
stock -fu <----- works
onpladm run job tmpjob3 -fu <----- doesn't work
onpladm delete job tmpjob3 -fu -R <----- works
I am using the examples from the paper by John Carlson that I found on
the IBM website so can't understand why it wouldn't work.
The onpload database has been created and as the create and delete jobs
will attest, is reachable. There is nothing in the log files but they
are created in /tmp with a length of 0.
The messages are :
Successfully created Job tmpjob3 <----- from the create job
Connecting to onpload, Please wait...
Timeout error trying to connect to onpload <----- from the run job
Successfully deleted Job tmpjob3 <----- from the delete job
I have also tried the run job with a -S <my instance name> with no
success.
Any assistance or ideas where to look greatly appreciated.

Hi Logan,
Try using onpload instead of onpladm while running the job.
I think their is a bug with Linux platform.
You can use.
onpladm create job tmpjob3 -d /usr/hpltest/stock.unl -D stores_demo -t
stock -fu
onpload -j tmpjob3 -fuonpladm delete job tmpjob3 -fu -R
and let me know if things are working fine.
Also 1 more thing, can you check/send me the permission of onpload bina=
ry.
Regards,
Pravin.
