Newbie Questions

I'm new to the Informix brand of SQL and I have some questions that more experienced developers will probably be able to answer easily. I'm running against an Informix-SE 7.1 db on a UNIX server (don't have the O/S version-hopefully it's not relevant to these questions). 1) Is there a (simpler) way to code a stored proc to return a multi-row result set **other than** using the ForEach statement? 2) Are there any functions or subroutines to return an UPPERcase or LOWERcase version of a string?
