disk io scheduler on linux (VMware VM)

Hi all, I've my IDS11.50FC7 inside SLES10.3 inside VMWare 3.5 virtual machine. I've got the dbspaces informix device pointing to raw linux device which is a RDM (raw device mapping) vmware disk attached to this VM. Maybe someone tried playing around with disk io schedulers inside linux when the virtual machine is sitting on the RAID array already? (piece of nice art: http://www.novell.com/connectionmagazine/2010/07/two_paths_to_server_performance _one.html). Currently - as per default - i've got CFG in SLES. I saw some advises that the NOOP (basic one) should be used when the server sits on RAID. Anybody have experience with this by any chance?
