can anyone offer any advice ?
we've got an DDS2 4mm auto loader SCSI tape device on
our AIX 4.2.1.0 server.
we are running informix dynamic server 7.24UC3
problem is the backup routine is not 'moving' on to the next tape
in our auto loader.
we are running this ontape command , 'ontape -s -L 0'
the tape variables in our informix config files are TAPEBLK 1024 , TAPESIZE
8192000
ontape will not rewind, eject the current tape and load next tape for some
reason
any ideas ?
Cheers

You must use the rewind device. Informix does not rewind manually it just
closes the tape device and expects that it will rewind on its own. If
your autoloaded can detect the close and auto load the next tape you can
just answer the prompt for the next tape as soon as the loader completes
the cartridge change.
