Hi all, We're pretending to move our existing production enviroment from solaris 8 to solaris 10, but we're planning to use a zone to replace our old server. I read docs about zones in SOLARIS 10 with IDS from IBM web page. Aditionally to RESIDENT, NOAGE parameters issues and mapping correctly network in SQLHOSTS. Are oher tips or recomendations about it? Has anybody done this before? Can you share experience? Thanks in advance
Hi Paulo, Ensure you set your shared memory parameters up correctly, in Solaris 10, its all moved from /etc/system (S8 & S9) to /etc/project and /etc/user_attr. You'd adjust these inside the zone, in fact its not necessary to do anything in the global zone, but for example it does look weird to have processes with no owner, just the uid, so perhaps /etc/group and /etc/passwd entries are a good thing.
