Saccente >Bellcore The basic answer is YES, by using a custom version of ACE. That was the easy bit. The difficult bit is where it is documented and where it is available. Up to and including version 4.0, the custom report (and form) programs were provided as part of Informix-ESQL/C; the compilers are called cace and cperform respectively. The documentation was in the ESQL/C manual. That wasn't too dificult either. With Version 4.10, the custom compilers are provided with Informix-SQL. However, I think the documentation remains in the ESQL/C manual. The reasoning behind this change is that to provide cace and cperform requires Informix-SQL to be ported. However, with Version 5.0, the tools (ISQL, I4GL in all its forms) have yet to be released, but the Engines and ESQL/C are available already. This will be true of future versions of the Informix tools. The documentation for ESQL/C 5.0 does not include the chapter on customised ACE and PERFORM. I trust this helps you.
