VB 4.0 -> Openlink ODBC -> Online 5.04 on SCO ODT 3.0 (read only?)

I am attempting to use Openlink's ODBC (32 bit) on Windows 95 in conjunction with Microsoft's Visual Basic 4.0 to attach to Informix 5.04 Online on an SCO ODT 3.0 box with only moderate success. I am able to see all of the data, tables, fields etc in the database but I am unable to update, add, or delete any data from under VB 4.0. Using these same ODBC drivers with Powerbuilder I am able to update the tables. I recieve an error message telling me the table (any table in the database) is read only under VB. I am sure this is a function of the ODBC driver either on the client or server side. The database has no logging, or locking enabled and public has all privileges granted. If any one has used this combo with success, I would be interested in hearing what I am doing wrong. TIA for all of your insight.
