Basically sound. The problem for IDS is that it assumes that when the write() call returns, the data is safely on disk. If the data is not safe, all bets are off. And the more software there is between IDS and the disks, the less reliable the result tends to be. -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2008.0513 -- http://dbi.perl.org/ "Blessed are we who can laugh at ourselves, for we shall never cease to be amused."
