onbar -l

I am using the "onbar -l" via the log.full.sh script
To do my Logical Log backups. Does anyone know
how "onbar" or ISM notifies the user when the
Logical Log tape fills up?
Thanks,

Ron,
I'm not sure who you are referring to as the "user".
Anyway, this may be what you're after.
Informix will generate an "Event Alarm 23" when a logical log fills up,
if you have the ALARMPROC set to some shell script in your config.
Informix will execute it for every EVENT ALARM generated. Your shell
script can then execute onbar -l upon detecting an Event Alarm of type
23.

We use onbar -l and networker from legato. AFAIK ISM is a
"networker light" only for IDS. If a tape fill up networker moves to
the state "Waiting for a writable tape ...". This will be mailed to
user "root"
after a certain waiting period. If you have any tools to control the
state of
ISM the message will appear there.
