Multiple File backup

I have 6GB in 2 file systems say /a and /b. I need to back up to disk. How
do i back up a 5G instance to split across the filesystems ? It probably
goes something like this ...
Point the tapedev parameter to /a
start ontape
when ontape prompts for tape 2 link /b to /a. This is the part I have a
problem with. What is the command for this ?
After doing the above press return ...
Is that right ?

I suggest creating a symbolic link, /symlink, that initially points to
(a file in) /a. You'd set your TAPEDEV parameter to /symlink. You
need to worry about your TAPESIZE parameter; can we assume that the
same amount of space is available in /a and /b? If they are
asymmetric, you may have problems using it all.

At this point, in your other window, you relink /symlink to (a file
in) /b. This is the equivalent of removing the first tape and loading
the second. Fortunately, disk files are inherently rewind devices.
Note that the files you use must exist before you start.

Yes.
This is the obvious way to do it; I have not formally verified that it
works.
