[Q] Dynamic substring in SPL

Hi all, I need to analyze and convert some CHAR data in the stored procedure intended for intensive usage by many different applications. SPL doesn't support dynamic substrings, for example LET character = string[i,i] SYSTEM statement very slow and expensive. Is it possible to make such a thing by any other way - in SP? Leonid
