[....sig deleted...] There are at least two solutions to your problem. See the function to get the value of an environmental variable, FGL_GETENV(), on pg 4-58 of my newer manual "Informix 4GL, Volume 2" v6.0, April 1994. Also see the USER function, detailed on pg 3-80 of the "Informix 4GL Ref Manual", v4.0, March 1990. The v6.0 manual also talks about the USER function on page 3-328, but it says to see the older (4.1) manual for a complete discussion. This is also in the "Informix SQL Reference Manual", v4.0 pg 2-51. That should get you started. BTW, isn't it nice to see a post that isn't about that damned HK spelling thing? OH NO, now I'm guilty, too! __________________________________________________________________ | Clem Akins Standard Disclaimers Apply | |Reynolds Metals Co, Alloys Plant "Climb High, Cave Deep!" | | Muscle Shoals, Alabama USA cwakins@leia.alloys.rmc.com | |________________________________________________________________|
