STMT_CACHE

Version: 10 FC 4 I was reading about STMT_CACHE to see if this could be used to increase the performance of repeated queries. But I see lot of people have filed bugs about it. It appears engine crashes if you try to use it. So my question is: 1. Do you advise using STMT_CACHE 2. If you do advise then how do I determine STMT_CACHE_NUMPOOL and STMT_CACHE_SIZE. Also how are these 2 different from each other.

I remember some on 9.4... But I'm not the best person to give you advices on this. Personally I'd use it... STMT_CACHE_SIZE is the initial ( = max size if STMT_CACHE_NOLIMIT=0) size (KB) of the SQL statement shared cache. You can have more than one "pool" or cache if you set STMT_CACHE_NUMPOOL to a value greater than 1. This can be necessary if you're having contention on the latch that protects the cache. -- Fernando Nunes Portugal http://informix-technology.blogspot.com My email works... but I don't check it frequently...
