Adjusting Serial Column Values

Using ISQL 2.10 is it possible to adjust the values in a column with serial data type? What we have is a table with a control number serial column which goes from 1 to 2104. The user complained that her next entry resulted in a 2116 control number. She was expecting 2105. I tried unloading her table, dropping the table, sorting the unloaded ascii text, recreating the table and finally loading the sorted data back in. I was hoping the system would load from 1-2104 and generate 2105 with the next add. But the system still insists on using 2116 as the next serial value!
