I can't comment on the 4gl products. We use ESQL/C, ISQL and OnLine
(everything 5.0 except ISQL is now 4.11, but we still have the 4.10
release notes files in our HP system).
Remember, this discussion began with the IBM RS/6000 platform. This
appears to be a port-specific issue, but after it came up for IBM, I
also looked at our HP release note files.

I looked at the release note files on the system: ISQL_4.1, ONLINE_5.0,
ONLINE_4.1, ESQLC_5.0 and ESQLC_4.1. The ESQLC files did not mention it
at all, the others said "terminfo not supported".

My cohort discovered the problem (I'm not certain now which platform he
found it on) because there was no termcap entry for the terminal type he
was using -- he confirmed there was a terminfo entry, but it still tried
to use termcap, even after INFORMIXTERM=terminfo.
