IDS & Change Data Capture

Topics: General Discussion
We are getting our feet wet in the data warehouse world, and one of the engineers asked me if there is a facility in Informix IDS 11.50 or higher, similar to Microsoft SQL's Change Data Capture capability. Beyond ER replication, and system tables that track changes, I can't think of anything with in Informix that specifically tracks changes like MSSQL-CDC. Has anyone experienced something with IDS warehouse or anything IDS that could yield our DW engineers something similar to what CDC does? Thanks for any insight or experience you may have in this area. Sincerely, Jonathan B. Google search with 'site:ibm.com informix cdc api' The top two items at least are relevant. Hi, Take a look at Infosphere Change Data Capture, aka CDC. See http://www-01.ibm.com/software/data/infosphere/change-data-capture/. I believe you'll get the same result as with the MS stuff. Jonathan previously sent the links describing the Informix interface used by Infosphere CDC to capture changes. Please call or write if you have further questions.
