It has been 2 years since CA Unicenter stopped sup
Posted in 2006
Not a technical fault but a vendor-support complaint: CA dropped the Informix agent from Unicenter NSM's Database Performance Monitor Option (announced June 2004, support ending June 2005) and showed no sign of reinstating it, which annoyed a large customer still using Unicenter. Others added BMC, Actuate and PeopleSoft to the list of vendors no longer certifying Informix. One poster said he was again pushing Oracle/PeopleSoft to certify IDS 10 with Tools 8.49 (rejected so far, escalated); another had heard from IBM that Oracle/PS had already agreed, and was checking. No resolution is recorded.

It has been 2 years since CA Unicenter stopped supporting Informix. Too bad they have no plans to revisit this. My company is a fortune 500 company an uses Unicenter. This still doesn't appear to move CA into supporting the Informix product. http://supportconnectw.ca.com/public/dpmo/infodocs/dpmo-psa.asp Unicenter Network and Systems Management Database Performance Monitor Option Product Support Announcement To: Unicenter NSM Database Performance Monitor Option Customers From: The Computer Associates Unicenter NSM Database Performance Monitor Option Product Team Date: June 30, 2004 Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) is continually working to improve our software and services to best meet the needs of our customers. In order to effectively support the latest computing environments and those of the future, we continually evaluate our products to determine their strategic direction. In order to focus our development and support efforts on our most strategic business tools we have decided we will be dropping support for the Informix agent component of Unicenter NSM Database Performance Monitor Option. This means Unicenter NSM Database Performance Monitor Option will no longer be enhanced for future releases of Informix, and that maintenance and customer support for the Informix agent component of Unicenter NSM Database Performance Monitor Option will continue only through June 30, 2005 or the end of your current maintenance or licensing term, whichever is later. Jerry, We are, once again, attempting to get Oracle/Psoft to cert IDS 10 w/tools 8.49. I'm hoping since 8.49 is still in the development phase they may consider it. The first response of course was no, it has been "escalated" again. I'll keep you posted!
