ODBC

Lots of posts on ODBC at the moment. Here's one. Platform: Win95/NT4 Database: Informix Online 5.02 Divers attempted: Informix 2.80 (using onsoctcp) Intersolv 3.10 OpenLink Lite 3.15.0316 (using tcp) I also have MS DAC2.0 on my machine. I cannot connect to informix at all with any of these drivers. A week ago with Informix-Cli 2.5 driver I could connect no problem. However, its we cannot use this driver (for various reasons). SetNet32 settings are the same as before when I could connect no problem. Also, I've tried this on three machines and no joy. When I try to connect via ilogin the connection hangs - when I do a netstat (in DOS) I can see that an sqlexec has been established but it does seem to be hooking up with the sqlexecd daemon correctly and so never returns. I've checked the services file on both sides and they match (1525). I can ping the server also. Protocol used is onsoctcp. Even when I try to connect to the stores database, ilogin never returns. When I try setting up File DSNs I get the following message: A connection could not be made using the file data source parameters. (With Informix I'm at least allowed to enter parameters, host details etc, but with OpenLink as soon as I try to save the DSN name (before entering paramters) I get the above message. All I want in the world is a driver that supports trusted host and stored procedures, but at this rate if I can just connect to the database I'll be happy. Insufficient Connection information was supplied (-11060) DIAG [01000] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The driver doesn't support the version of ODBC behavior that the application requested (see SQLSetEnvAttr). (0) Insufficient Connection information seems strange as I've entered ALL fields and correctly from what I see. The only change I have made from the last connection I've made is unsetting the client and db locale in SetNet32. This is because Informix have now adopted an International (non MS) code page standard. Setting to the old values of en_us.1252 and 850 causes informix to go nuts, can't find error files etc so keeping these settings is not an option. (160) Well, if anyone's come accross this before or can recommend any solutions (like getting a bar job) I'd be gushing with love. If anyone has any suggestions as to any other drivers to use, preferably with trusted host and stored procedure capability then please shout. Thanks and goodnight! John
