Johnson County, Kansas, a suburban community of Kansas City, has an opening for a DBA. Johnson County offers an excellent quality of living. The County government is progressive and highly participative. The IT group consists of 50 individuals. There are 2 DBA positions working in a Data Administration team of 5. The environment is flexible and highly supportive of education and training and individual development plans. You will work mostly 40 hour weeks, very little OT. We are a new Informix shop and would like to find someone with a solid Informix background. We have no Informix prod databases yet but have a number of projects in the works. Things we have going on: 1. 2 OLTP systems (using imaging) being written in Delphi with Informix as the backend 2. Web-based development effort for the intranet with plans to develop for Internet 3. Spatial data project for our GIS using Informix Spatial DataBlade 4. Convert GIS tabular data from proprietary (ESRI) to Informix 5. DSS (now) and data warehouse (1998) In addition to Informix, we use EDA/SQL as middleware to legacy data. We also use System Architect as our CASE tool and would train a DBA on data modeling and use of this tool. We will also train the DBA in Delphi and NT as well (and whatever else is needed/desired/agreed to such as the GIS, EDA/SQL, etc.) Information on Johnson County can be found at http://www.jocoks.com.
