Restoring stratgies

We use 2 archiving strategies in production (SP)- level 0 archives of
instance(using ontape) and onunloads. The reason for doing onunloads by
database is because we have 4 Informix instances on our Dev box- SD, ST, SO,
SB. The difference between the instances is in the chunk name. Hence, the root
chunk is /dev/informix/SProot_z200 in SP, /dev/informix/SDroot_z200 in SD,
/dev/informix/SBroot_z200 in SB etc. We use onloads to restore development as
an level 0 archive based restore will not work. We would like to get away from
using onunloads-onloads to do a restore. Primarily, this is to save us a lot
of storage space for the tapes as well as save us some time if we have to
restore multiple dev instances.
Are there any other strategies to accomplish this in our case? (Informix
11.70.FC7 on HP-UX B.11.31 U ia64)
You CAN use ontape to restore your production archives to the DEV box
server instances using the redirected restore feature. No need to use
onunload/onload!
