Distributing Informix data accross multiple physical disk.

Hi Folks, Can anyone please advice me if distributing data accross multiple physical disk will help us in optimizing data access using Informix Online. Our platform is an IBM RISC/6000 that uses SCSI-1 controller technology. Will using SCSI-2 help? Your reply will be well appreciated. Thanks, Ellory Yu
