Solaris 2.4 on SunCentre 100e. 100 waiting on i/o

Dear all We have recently upgraded a SunCentre 1000 4 CPU machine to a 1000e 6 cpu. (Runs great BTW). DSA is affinitised to CPU's 0,1,2. I have noticed that an online archive (ontape -s 0) causes the other 3 CPUs to go to 80-90% waiting on i/o instantly. (This is with just me on the machine. CPUs were 99-100% idle prior to running ontape). Interrupting ontape restores all CPUs back to near 100% idle. The system board has been replaced in the upgrade so it is meant to be faster. Online is reading from a raw partition onto a tape. The VARs engineers look concerned and make humming noises but have no idea really.
