That sounds like good advice, but you're not off the hook yet! If I don't use the Object Interface, what's the best way to integrate informix data into a c++ class? I've seen a couple of answers in the FAQ, but I'm confused about how to declare the appropriate variables. I want to write a class, ORCursor, with roughly the interface: #include "Record.h" class ORCursor { public: ORCursor(const string& sql); // $prepare, $declare, $open ~ORCursor(); // $close, $free bool Fetch(const Record&); // $fetch }; Then I want to be able to write an application including something like this: Record r; ORCursor cur(ORGenSQL(argc, arv)); while(cur.Fetch(r)) { cout << r << endl; } The Record class and the ORGenSQL are already written and tested, using files.
