JDBC failure using getSerial()

Greetings all. We're currently running Informix 7.30.UC5-1 on Solaris 2.6 (SunOS 5.6). I'm also using Informix's 2.0JC1 JDBC driver under Windows NT. I'm experiencing a problem doing an Insert, where I need to retrieve the serial value assigned by the server to the table's primary key. The insert itself is working perfectly, and the serial ID is correct. I've done this in stored procedures a million times, but in Java, it appears to be failing - I keep getting a zero returned. The function I'm using is roughly "int serialID = myIfmxStatement.getSerial(). Does anyone have any idea why this might be failing, and what I could to to get it to work? Thanks! Rich -- Richard C.
