Re: Company thought DB2 will be better than Oracle.

We are certainly looking at and protoythe high availability through replication (HDR) technology we acquired with Informix. We also appreciate that xferring the ip address in some transparent way is desirable. DB2 also supports split/mirror: http://www7b.boulder.ibm.com/dmdd/library/techarticle/0204quazi/0204quazi.html as well as log shipping: http://www7b.boulder.ibm.com/dmdd/library/techarticle/0304mcinnis/0304mcinnis.html These are all low-tech, simple solutions. For more formal approaches, DB2 supports High Availability through the following packages / methods: HACMP on AIX Microsoft Cluster server on Windows Sun Cluster on Solaris Veritas Cluster Server on Solaris Heartbeat on Linux Steeleye on Linux Serviceguard on HP Peter wrote: > Is there any Transparent Application Fallover in DB2?
