I merely pointed out the issues of why one would want a single large drive. That being reduced power requirements and size.(Heat output could also be a constraint in some areas too.) As to the comments about mean time to failure, my point is that you have a greater chance of failure as you increase the number of drives. (Its a question of simple mathematical probability.) I'm sure you could take two 18 Gig drives and do some form of mirroring. Yet an angry employee can still go postal and take out your server with a sledge hammer so you really aren't secure until you do multiple sites tied together with Veritas and DR or something.... Wow! And I thought only women argued about size. ;-) (Ooops!
