Create Roles

Does anybody know the syntax for the create role statement? I have looked through all of our informix books and I can't find any references to the exact syntax to use. Also any comments on using roles to limit access to the databse would be appreciated. Currently all of our security on the databse is built into the 4GL applications and the database itself is pretty much unrestricted. However, we would like to put some of the information on the web without compromising security, which means the database will have to become protected. Any comments would be appreciated.
