Error!!! "Transaction is not supported "

I'm programming in java and using informix-jdbc driver. when I was testing my DB interface module, I met an error message like this " Transactions not supported" and I tested Transaction SQL statment which includes "begin work~~" with dbaccess of Informix server then, an Error occurred too, as like " Transactions is not vailable" I don't know why. please let me know ASAP Thanks.
