I don't have access to ESQL or 4GL. Sort of, but not directly. The only way of getting DB-Access to enter BYTE data is via the load statement, and the BYTE data for a LOAD statement must be a continuous stream of hex digits representing the bytes of the data. Consequently, you need to merge the JPG images into your other data. Or you should get ClientSDK for your machine and use an ESQL/C program. There's a simple one called updblob in the IIUG archives (http://www.iiug.org) which would allow you to load the non-BYTE data into the table, leaving the BYTE portions null, and then load direct from the files. You'd need to do some work on it to make it into a production program; a single run can only update a single row. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
