Graeme suggests that ISQL might be the problem. I have been following this thead for
quite some time and apparently only now just realized what the color was. I have SE 4.0,
ISQL 4.00.UH1, also SE 5.0 and ISQL 4.00.UH1 (SYS V/386 4.2 UNIX). I, of course
am able to perform SQRT (as well as the other functions the unraveling of this thread
has revealed) from SE 5 and DBACCESS. However, after Graeme's wakeup call, I tried
it with SE 5 and ISQL 4.00.UH1. It works. It does not work, of course with SE 4 and
ISQL.
Just my .02 worth.
