First: I said probably and meant it. Second: I thought I made it realatively clear what the limitations are with the following paragraph in my post regarding Java: "Some key features are component based, object oriented, multi threaded, multi tier programming all in one and the same language on all tiers with one set of development tools and one set of source code all running on most platforms, by next spring even within the Informix database engine as a sort of stored procedure language or as datablades." PowerBuilder have limitations (or no way to do it at all) in several of these areas. Of course you can solve these things by using other languages in combination with PowerBuilder, but that isn't by far as good a solution as doing it all in one language when that language is as usefull as Java at all these levels. >How much experience do you have of PowerBuilder compared to Java? This is a false question. Some people believe you can say nothing without personal experience. I have that with both products, but that's not key in this regard. >Mike Ripley > >Remove NOSPAM to e-mail Nils Myklebust NM Data AS Norway E-mail: Nils.Myklebust@nmdata.com FAQ at: Primary with ODBC info: http://www.smooth1.demon.co.uk Official site http://www.iiug.org/techinfo/faq/faq_top.html
